Boxcar sits right in the middle of Connaught Village and feels very much like a neighbourhood go-to. It opens early, serving in-house baked pastries and good coffee from the early hours, and stays ticking throughout the day. The menu covers brunch and lunch classics, from pancake stacks to their much-loved croissant benedict. There's space to sit inside or out when the weather's good, plus a small, well-chosen wine selection available during the day to take away. It's relaxed, local, and happily dog-friendly.
