Fenton House is a 17th-century merchant’s house in the leafy district of Hampstead. It was bought by Lady Binning in 1936, the niece of Victorian art connoisseur George Salting who left a vast selection of his art and porcelain collection to the British Museum, the V&A and the National Gallery after his death in 1909. It houses collections of ceramics, paintings, old instruments and intricate needlework and has an adjoining garden - home to luscious lawns, herbaceous borders, a sunken rose garden and a 300-year-old orchard.
