Strawberry Hill

Strawberry Hill, located in Twickenham, is an excellent example of neo-Gothic architecture. This historic villa, often considered the birthplace of the Gothic Revival movement, was designed and expanded by Horace Walpole, the 18th-century writer and collector. The architecture of Strawberry Hill features pointed arches, battlements, and elaborate lattices, mimicking the style of medieval Gothic cathedrals and castles. Not only is Strawberry Hill an architectural gem, but it also served as a gathering place for the literary and artistic elite of its time.
