Launched in late 2025, Aces Foodcraft quickly shot up the ranks of London's hottest new openings thanks to rave reviews from some of the country's top critics. Yet despite the acclaim and the refined approach to dining, it remains a warm, family-led affair at heart.

Aces Foodcraft marks the return of former Sosharu head chef Alex Craciun to the city, following stints abroad attaining new levels of culinary mastery. While he's in charge of the menus, his wife and business partner Aleksandra Jazevica, an established costermonger, makes sure the produce used in the kitchen is top-notch across the board. Even their son gets in on the action, with the restaurant bearing his name.

The restaurant itself is a stylish spot that turns its snug setting into an advantage. The compact room is dominated by an open kitchen with a chef's counter, but even the regular tables have a view of it. The design cleverly ups the theatricality of the experience, even if you're just popping in for the à la carte menu.

It all comes together for one of the most singular dining experiences in London, a striking showcase of Craciun's idiosyncratic culinary creativity. Global influences mix and mingle playfully in dishes like a prawn dumpling delicately perched on a cactus-shaped glass of vivid green mussel juice, or the chef's long-time signature “temacos”, a fusion of Mexican tacos and Japanese handrolls.

The best way to experience it all is via the evening tasting menu, with a shorter lunchtime version available as well. Whichever you go for, the important thing is to go. In a city full of empty promises and false hype, Aces Foodcraft delivers on all fronts.
