Colonel Saab is a contemporary Indian fine-dining establishment just off Trafalgar Square, where you can follow the trail of a unique adventure through India's kitchens, from street food signatures, homely Indian cooking and even dishes remembered from the larders of royalty.
The restaurant itself is ornate and opulent, eye-catching chandeliers sparkle from the ceiling, and the dark red interiors give a luxurious feel. Spend a moment browsing the imaginative cocktail menu and try something different like a kaapi martini or spicy podi margarita. Equally, opt for something a little more traditional: a refreshing lassi or an Indian gin and tonic. Either would make a great choice.
Take time to admire the walls of the restaurant, which are adorned with mementoes from the owner's family home, including plates, ornate rugs, and his parent's treasured love letters. From the kitchen, expect steaming plates of inventive Indian fine dining. Choose between a set menu, something à la carte or splashing out on the full tasting experience. Thankfully, the small plates at Colonel Saab allow you to try a variety of dishes. Pick out favourites such as the Anglo-Indian chicken chop, the Falahari kofta curry, or Old Delhi's famous lamb curry, and savour the flavours of an Indian adventure.
