Tayyabs is a family-run Punjabi restaurant that's widely recognised as an icon in East London. Since 1972, the famed neon blue sign here has been drawing hungry diners into the spacious and bustling restaurant. Once you're there you'll find a lively atmosphere, a diverse crowd, and a menu of delicious South Asian dishes that are great for sharing. You can bring your own alcohol to Tayyabs too.
There's lots to choose from on the menu here, with options to suit every taste. In a nutshell, if you're looking for comforting dishes full of spice and rich flavour you've come to the right place. Kick off a meal at Tayyabs with traditional Indian snacks like poppadoms, pakora, or samosas. The main dishes include a selection of curries with chicken, meat, or prawns. Special tikka masala curries are also on the menu.

It’s easy to see why this place is so legendary. There’s a lot going on and it can get a bit overwhelming when busy - don’t go here for a calm, quiet meal. But the food is excellent and affordable, the portions are huge, and the staff know their stuff. Good for big groups, and plenty of vegetarian choice.
