Godlee Observatory

Godlee Observatory

Godlee Observatory er en sted på Sackville Street Building, Manchester City Centre i Manchester.

Donated to the University of Manchester in 1902 by Francis Godlee, the Godlee Observatory is a small, historic observatory atop a gothic campus building. Despite its wood and papier-mâché construction, it survived the German Blitz and remains in operation today. It even assisted in the American moon landing by warning astronauts about a crater. It's maintained by the Manchester Astronomical Society and offers tours, preserving its early astronomical legacy.
