If you’re a fan of meat in various forms, from T-bone steaks to ribs and burgers, the Hawksmoor restaurants are the place to go. The proprietors aim to be recognised as one of the best steak restaurants in the country and they seem to have been succeeding so far, restoring the reputation of British beef in the process. Spitalfields is their original location and imbued with a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

You can’t go wrong with Hawksmoor for a nice group dinner, especially if steaks are your thing. The fish is excellent here too, and don’t sleep on the spinach. Their cocktails are top too. This branch is pretty small and smug compared to some of the others, so bigger bookings might want to head there instead.
