As indicated by the name, Punk Royale takes a decidedly rebellious approach to gastronomy and fine dining. Despite the London restaurant occupying an 18th-century building in Mayfair, don't expect to be greeted by tuxedoed staff, a toolbox of cutlery set out on crisp white tablecloths, and a harpist strumming delicately away in a dimly lit corner. That doesn't mean Punk Royale's tasting menus lack theatrical flair, but the seriousness often associated with fine dining is replaced by playfulness and a sense of imaginative abandon.
An eye-popping graffiti setting, smoke machines, serving syringes, and other unexpected elements combine in a memorable culinary chaos that has won over food critics and casual visitors alike.
